The word Potentia comes from Latin and means capability, might, and influence. It is also the root word of potential.

Potentia is an online talk-show about entrepreneurship. Our main goal is to encourage people by showing the reality and challenges of the entrepreneurial journey. 

​

In the same way, I believe that this generation, mainly because of social media, has become obsessed with the idea of being “your own boss” . Success is measured through the lense of luxury, travel and the accumulation of material goods.

 

Although all of this looks pretty awesome through our screens, it is nothing but the top of the iceberg. Only a few people talk about the sleepless nights, the self-doubt, the financial impacts and the ongoing  struggle: being torn between keeping the security offered by a 9-5 or embarking in the unknown realm of self-employment.

 

From the moment you get that spark until your idea comes to fruition and even after, an entrepreneur goes through many struggles and sometimes gives up.

Potentia has been created to show the honest side of entrepreneurship: the highs and lows, the failures and the loneliness that can be felt. Far from us the idea of making people depressed but it’s more to raise awareness and stress on the fact that it’s okay not to be a “boss”.

Being a “normal” person who just goes to work, or study or... is ABSOLUTELY NOT being a failure. We can be inspired by those people but we still have value even if we don’t live the same lives.
